Kanchipuram - Popularly known as the city of thousand temples, it is one of the seven most sacred Hindu pilgrimage centers. The highlights are the 108 Shaiva temples, 18 Vaishnava temples and Adi Shankararchya's Ashram. This small town is also famous for its thriving handloom and cotton industry and silk weavers known for their skills in producing best silk sarees in the entire country. |

Madurai - The temple town of South India, Meenakshi temple has become an icon of the city. Once the capital of the Pandya rulers, it has been built in the shape of a lotus and it is said that it was named 'Madhurapuri' as Lord Shiva showered divine nectar here on the day it was to be named. Later, the name distorted to Madurai. The city is famous for its jasmine flowers. Afternoon free to relax and explore the city.
